NGDF is providing a free on-line service to collect and maintain their metadata. Any data included in this service will be searchable through the Metadata service.
To use this service, please email NGDF requesting a personal login.
The NGDF web site lists various commercial and freeware tools that can be used to create compliant NGDF metadata. Organisations are encouraged to use a metadata tool that meets their operational needs. Metadata from these tools can then be provided to NGDF for searching through the Metadata service.
Metadata from in house developed metadata services can be provided using the transfer specification detailed in the NGDF Discovery Metadata Guidelines.
NGDF is encouraging organisations to make their metadata holdings searchable directly from the NGDF Gateway.
You are invited to register your details if you have a directory that is compliant with the NGDF Architecture.
